Preferred File Formats

Large or multiple files may be zipped.

(We do accept files from MS Publisher, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc. Be advised that to prepare these files for print may involve modifications and include a setup charge).

We can accommodate most Windows or MacOS files.

Resolution

We recommend a minimum resolution of 300 dpi for all images, for optimized printing quality. Web-based images are either 72 or 96 dpi, which is too low a resolution for printing purposes, and therefore their use is generally not recommended.

Colour

All full color print artwork and images must be provided in CYMK mode. Our print process will convert RGB artwork to CMYK, and we cannot be responsible for colour-shift caused by this change. Black and white artwork and images must be in grey-scale color mode.

Fonts

Fonts must be either embedded in your files or the font files included when you submit your file. We have most common fonts already on our system, but please check if you are using an unusual typeface. Be aware that some fonts will have copyright restrictions that prevent them from being embedded in your file. Where possible, fonts should be outlined or converted to paths/curves to prevent layout changes.

Bleed

Bleed is the portion of the card that will be trimmed off when cut to the final size. The purpose of a bleed is to continue a color, image or design to the edge of the card. Allow 1/4” for trimming purposes.

Templates

Please contact us and we can try to provide a template for your project that will suit your needs.

Borders

Allow 1/16” cutting “Safe Zone” tolerance around edges. Avoid printed borders inside your cut lines, as borders may appear uneven due to shifting during the printing and cutting process.

Proofing

We provide proofing in digital format. Note: colours on your monitor may differ from the printed piece due to individual monitor settings. Hardcopy proofs can be supplied if needed, and may involve additional cost.

We offer professional design and layout services to our clients’ specifications.

FTP / Dropbox Service

We can provide these services on request, or you may use other online services to transfer your files to us.
